Being Tagalog ain’t easy

But with the help of friends, I’ve managed to at least write down some of the more interesting words I’ve heard from folks. Oh yeah, and being a lifelong pottymouth, I have included all the dirtiest words people have told me too. DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU ARE OFFENDED BY DIRTY, FUNNY WORDS.

In no particular order:

Tara- slang for “Let’s Go”
Jeprox- this is a word meaning government project housing, or as in said in the Black community, “PJs.” It takes the PJs tag and reverses the order of them and adds the rest. I’ve found that Filipinos love the pun, and wordplay is rampant– it’s a very flexible language like English, but has the added advantage that English can also be utilized at will. The mashup of the two languages, which is spoken commonly, is called Taglish.
